You got a point there I am begining to wonder if I got it Wrong and it was a Privet Hawk Catterpillar It was nearly as big and fat as my little finger with a curly bit sticking up on its hind quarters green in colour and marking across or down the sides of its body.( Confused now).

.......and I've been reading this last couple of days while I have been away (in the rain - and come up with a new 'twist' (forgive the pun!) the only larvae with a 'curly' tail is said to be the Deaths Head - Privet has a curved spine at the back end............ ?? Just a further thought!
