| | | Caterpillar ID help please? Me and my kids were granted the pleasure of a fuzzy little visitor today, rather cute little caterpillar! I have searched the net and can find no photo that looks like he did, I was wondering if anyone can help figure out what he is?
Was quite a tickly little thing, kids and I were most impressed by him!
Thank you! |

| | | Re: Caterpillar ID help please? Hi Plantinum,
From the pictures it is hard to say, it is however from the Lycaenidae family (Red Admiral, Tortoiseshell, Painted lady etc). Hope this helps!

Your caterpillar could be that of a Peacock Butterfly, but I'm not 100% sure! I'm sure someone else here will know.

| | | Re: Caterpillar ID help please? JM! By jove! I think that's it!
Mine is less bright then the others, the picture was true to colour, but it's the same body shape and one of the pictures I found online had the same basic colour pattern, if a little brighter.
Thanks so much! I will be able to show the kids a picture of what 'their' caterpillar will turn into now!
Thanks again!
Now, to try and find the pictures of the monster spider living on my ceiling and get an ID for that!
