Caterpillar,,, but which one is it?

It was in a butterfly house and I also saw other butterflies laying their eggs in similar places, even right next to the caterpillar. It is most definatly a caterpillar.

Oh rite in a butterfly house sorry i didnt realise. Well that makes it a tad harder as its likely to be a tropical species, since this is a site based on british wildlife im sure most people wont be to up on tropical species, if you can get a photo of an adult in the house that was laying might be able to help, or ask at the house the staff should no.

Most likely a heliconid or tropical papilionid of some sort.

outside the house it did say that most of the species were British and there for conservation purposes, maybe that narrows it down
