| | | Larva in Cuckoo Spittle I took this photo in an area beside the river which flows through Burnside in County Antrim. It was in the cuckoo spittle until I moved it. I took the pic and then moved it back into the cuckoo spittle. ID anyone?

Quite a good defence mechanism when you are a soft and tasty nymph!

I guess the Common froghopper ( Philaenus spumarius) is, well, the commonest!
