Caterpillar Help

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can help me. A caterpillar came in the window of my car and I have no idea what it is so dont know what to feed it. It is green with black 'v' shapes down its back. It has a brown shiny head, 3 front feeler feet and 5 back feet with the last two spaced more apart.

Hi Sarah
You don't say what part of the country you are in but presume somewhere in UK. There is'nt much about this time of year on the caterpillar front most of this stage being in hibernation. The angleshades moth is more or less continuously brooded but the green form does not match your description. I would not expect much to be active at the moment with the temps we have been having.

Thanks for the help. Another perosn also said that it is likely to be that caterpiller. I released it into the garden so hopefully it survived.
