Black and Yellow Caterpillars

I have Ragwort in my garden this year and it’s covered in Cinnabar Moth caterpillars, so I don’t want to dig it up until they have finished eating their way through the plant. Does anyone know if Ragwort is harmful to cats? Mine does like to eat various types of grass, including my bamboo!

Hi.

I've been surfing the net looking to identify a catapiller that visited my back yard today. My surf led me to your forum and subsequently to this thread. Well, I at least now know what it is. I was sorry to read that these, like other caterpillers are in decline. I thought you may like to know that these are living in the back alley of the street I live in, in Liverpool. The weeds have taken over as the council seem to longer care. The weeds have brought me a few different moths and and caterpillers so I am not to bothered about those weeds. It is funny how something can turn up in the midst of nowhere.
I unfortunately don't have a garden anymore but do have posts with flowers in. It has been ice seeing different insects visiting this year including a few lady birds.
