Yellow tails E.similis tend to have an orange unbroken bar down their back, as well as silver/grey hair, as oppose to the brown tail who's larva has golden hair and a more spotted back like in your photo.

I think that it is a Knot Grass as opposed to the "tail" moths.If you look it has the red & white spiracle line which the brown and yellow tails don't have,also the red dots on the dorsal line don't look right.

neil | I agree with Knot-grass it looks like the one I had in the garden not too long ago which was identified same as.

It costs about £45 new but if you look on amazon or ebay you should get it cheaper.
