This caterpillar was photographed today at the Hillier Arboretum near Romsey in Hampshire. It was about 4cm long. 
If someone could identify it I should be most grateful.

I can't see the red 'tail' on that picture, I shot one of these last year which had the 'tail' as do most of the pics I can see if I use google image search on the latin name. What does the lack of this signify? |
