| | | Re: Help Identify a Caterpillar If no photo then please describe size, background colour, and any other features. There are domestic moth larvae as well as those that come in from outside! |

| | | Re: Help Identify a Caterpillar Yes I will try and get a photo...
I have found little ones that are about half a cm and bigger ones that are over a cm. On a closer inspection they seem to have six legs, a dark brown stripe with a cream colour underneath. they have a few long hairs mostly at the bottom end. They are quick moving aswell. Also a few times I have notice a couple of black bettle type insects in the same place.
I hope that helped... lol
Thank you for trying to help |

| | | Re: Help Identify a Caterpillar Sounds very much to me like you have an infestation of the larder beetle and it's larvae in your property, my old place had a lot too especially under the carpets and in the cracks in the floor they feed on bits of food etc and come out in the dark and were worse in the kitchen when the cracks in the floor had crumbs and bits of food go down them that I wasn't able to clear up!
Type in larder beetle online and check out some of the images they have of them and their brown hairy larvae, it will also perhaps tell you what to do to eradicate them!
Hope that's them! |

| | | Re: Help Identify a Caterpillar Just found this website that has good pics of the actual adult beetle and it's larvae, I must add however, that I didn't often see beetles with the cream band going across their wing cases, the ones that I saw were black but they looked exactly the same and so did their larvae! check this out : http://counties.cce.cornell.edu/suff...r%20Beetle.pdf |
