Hi I have a Mullien Caterpillar on my budliau been there for about 2 weeks and getting bigger munching away at the leaves, how long is the life cycle off the caterpillar before it changes. can anyone answer this for me. Barquar |

I was always told they are at the larva stage from may to july then form an underground cocoon in which to pupate, and that stage can last up to 4 years!

thanks for the info so how long do you think he will be a caterpillar for about 6 to 8 weeks. went out this morning(Monday) and cant find him as yet but the heavy rain may have something to do with that.

Thanks for that info on mullien caterpillar. I have watched him grow into a fair size but now he has gone no sighn off him. he has perhaps gone off to go into his next stage.I shall miss looking for him each morning lets hope he developes into the Mullien moth eventually.
