| | | Artificial Tree or Disguised Phone Mast I found this today whilst on a bike ride. This tree was fenced off with the typical fences you usually get around water or united utilities facilities. It had a satellite dish in the top a lot like a phone mast. But it looks like a tree
Its definitely man made, the trunk looks like wood but is clearly a plastic coating of some kind. There were small rungs in the back of it like you find on telephone masts etc. I have heard of artificial trees but my mum said it could be a disguised phone mast to make people oblivious to it. I took my mum to see it when we went towards the area and she was amazed.
Sorry the photo doesn't do it justice. I'll have to revisit. |

| | | Re: Artificial Tree or Disguised Phone Mast I've seen a few of these, and this is definitely better than some of them.
I suppose if we have to have the necessary evil of telecoms masts, then at least disguising them goes some way towards lessening their impact.
Regards

53.720093, -2.531997 | I might just give this one a miss. (I wouldn't be surprised if they started putting artificial owls & woodpeckers in them next ).

Ken | This is so dated that most younger than 50 will scratch their heads. "The huffle of a snail in danger?"

I bet you get really annoyed when your Scottish view is disturbed by those big metal skeletons I'll be going back for better photos soon - so you can see just how much detail has gone into it |

| | | Re: Artificial Tree or Disguised Phone Mast There ain't too many pylons in scenic places but they have started erecting Wind Turbines in beauty spots, which usually are on exposed ridges
