| | | Re: The Big Question: Is there a technological solution to the problem of global warm The one proposed "fix", seeding the seas with iron, seems not to be an option - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/7959570.stm- indeed many think that the idea would be very dangerous and counter-productive.
Basically engineers have a very simplistic view of life: all processes can be reduced to simple formulae .... whereas life-processes are very different, complex and not really understood, even by the best of ecologists. Which is why biologists would urge caution - and drown all engineers in the sea! |

You know, while many people have taken up AGW as almost a religion, please remember it's only a consensus it it not SCIENCE !,many who were quoted from the IPCC have now publicly said they were misquoted.
Gore,Hansen,Hathaway et al, have been see to be wrong about many things.I mean, politicians jumping on the bandwagon should have been everyones "wake up call". Just imagine this scenario, eventually AGW is realised to be false, will people EVER trust Science again?.
Please do your own research, don't just believe what you are told !,it will take time but it's worth it,if you can't be bothered, that's up to you.
ps, remember Prof David Bellamy?,wonder why he's not been on TV?,that my dear students will be your first task !
(reread this, don't mean to be condesending,it's just my way !) |

Who says censorship no longer exists?

| | | Re: The Big Question: Is there a technological solution to the problem of global warm I think the problems from over population will eclipse anything global warming may or may not bring. By 2030 the world population is estimated to rise to 9 Billion. Added to that ever dwindling resources will lead to conflicts. The current population is around 6 billion with scientists already saying the world can only support 2 Billion comfortably (pre-industrial revolution levels) in the long term. This bridge has been monitored since the 1930s (but was known to exist before that) but only started melting in the late 1990s.

Roy. | The slight flaw in this argument is that Bellamy hadn't worked for the BBC for several years before he became a climate skeptic. He doesn't always talk sense either - he made a couple of very well publicised gaffs on climate change when he got his numbers wrong.
