| | | survey on global warming - earn £5 Dear All,
University of Exeter is currently running an online-study about views on global warming and perceptions of what can be done to slow it down. We would like to invite you to participate.
By taking part you will earn £5 in Amazon vouchers (alternatively we can donate the equivalent amount to the environmental charity of your choice). All you need to do is fill in the online questionnaire here: http://psy.ex.ac.uk/~ar216/rotate
We will then send you the voucher via your e-mail address within a week.
* * * Please note: This study ends by September 15, 2007. You need to fill it in at the latest by this date in order to receive the voucher.***
Thanks a lot in advance! |

| | | Re: survey on global warming - earn £5 It doesn't work now ! It worked on Wednesday when I filled it in.
When (if) they get it working again, be prepared, they say it takes 15 to 20 mins to fill in. It does !

| | | Re: survey on global warming - earn £5 call me a cynic but theres something a bit off about this - £5 in vouchers for everyone who fills in the questionaire - thats going to be somewhat expensive if genuine
are we sure that this is legit not a phishing expedition - particularly as the university of exeters website is exeter.ac not ex.ac - this could be one explanation for why the link no longer works.

but maybe i just have a nasty suspicious mind - its probably all on the up and up

| | | Re: survey on global warming - earn £5 Thank you for your interest in the survey. I had to terminate data collection earlier than expected because I got far too many replies. The link will not be working anymore. I am sorry for any inconvenience caused.
P.S. This study is not sponsored by Amazon. Funding comes from a research grant. And no one is going to sell your e-mail if you filled in the survey. You will be contacted once again with few follow-up questions regarding the same topic, and that's it. The survey is not anywhere on the University website because University is running hundreds of research projects, all of them cannot be put on the site. I hope this clarifies things a bit. Thanks again! |

I've just tried to use my £5 voucher at Amazon. It was for a new book about £12. They do not 'recognise the voucher number for that particular transaction'.
It's either a £5 voucher or it's not a £5 voucher !
My original suspisions are probably true.
I was happy to help with the survey. If the offer is genuine, you have my permission to cancel it and donate the money to the RSPB.
Beware of free lunches !!

| | | Re: survey on global warming - earn £5 I too am skeptical about this, not because of the cash, this kind of thing is common in acedemia. Thing is what will they do with your views. If its a scam then someone would have let on by now, and you can always trace the study to some researcher, so just try. What department is doing the study? Its from thy psysho-logy department, ie, it aint worth to much to biologists or anyone else.. |
