With due respect and empathy to all those suffering from the current floods caused by excessive rainfall, I would like, nevertheless, to suggest a visit to this website which allows interactive predictions of where the coastline would be should the sea rise due to global warming etc. Flood Maps
I live about a mile from the coast and my house would be safe until the sea rose by 8 metres. Pay a visit and vary the heights to see what your status is.
I have experienced being flooded out by the sea in the 1953 event which was extra scary as it happened overnight, in winter and there was no way of informing most of the public of the danger. |
