| | | Charity Credit Cards I've always thought these were a good ( i.e. fairly painless) ways of contributing cash to good causes - or getting the bankks to do so! However, since the banks have started having such a bad time ( ) they feel that they may not be able to afford to be so charitible. The first bank to withdraw charity cards - BBC News - Cancer charity loses out as bank ends credit card deal ..... |

| | | Re: Charity Credit Cards What a shame, but I'm sure one of these nice chief executive/chairman type persons will automatically offset the charities loss by donating their million pound plus bonuses!
Wow! Just seen a flying pig. Can I put that on my year list?

One good idea I heard today. The Government are limiting the maximum anyone can claim on benefits to "only" £26,000. How about limiting bank bonuses also to £26,000? After all how many of us would be thrilled with a bonus of such a sum? |

| | | Re: Charity Credit Cards The ONLY reason I have the two credit cards I hold is because they are "charity" cards (RSPB and BTO) Some years back the BTO one was transferred from (?I've forgotten!) to MBNA but the RSPB one has always been with the Co-operative Bank. Should either decide to withdraw these cards then I will probably end up going for a Sainsbury's one that'll give ME Nectar points! I will certainly not accept a "normal" card from either Bank in exchange for my "charity" ones!

Our main credit cards are Co-op ones on behalf of Oxfam and Greenpeace. The Greenpeace card is pcv-free so produces less pollution than other cards . Problem is, it often disintegrates before its expiry date! |

| | | Re: Charity Credit Cards I'm on sick and I get nothing as big as £26,000. £10,000 is more like it.
£26,000 + my forces pension would be nice. But I guess I got no Kids so I'll keep on dreaming. Don't let the BRAINWASHED tell you that us on permanent sick get too much to live on. That is mostly a LIE!..I get the minimum but slightly more than those on Dole. If I did not go to my 94 year old dads house to cook for him and have my meal there as well, i don't think I could afford the food some people buy. I packed up smokeing, drink very little, and save what little I got left. Takes me two to three years to save to buy what i want.
Wish I could work.. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
