| | | wab's own SSSI Sully Island, just off the coast of South Wales, is up for sale for £95,000. 14.5 hectares, it's a SSSI with good biodiversity. It also has a Viking era hill fort and its very own shipwreck. No chance of "development", but a small residential building should be OK. Spectacular views of, er, the River Severn and North Devon.
Let's have a whip-round and buy it as a community project. I'll put a grand in.
I'm only half joking . . .

| | | Re: wab's own SSSI Well I'm not the one making the rules. But you could implement a system where you are given the option to work your way back to being thawed.

If 200 Wabbers put up £1K each we could buy the island outright on a simple share basis, put up a decent "hostel" with say 6 beds, photo-voltaic roof panels, OUR OWN WIND TURBINE, diesel genny back-up, oil-fired CH, rigid inflatable ferry/tour boat cos the island is only accessible by a causeway at low tide. Then we offer day trips, short stay breaks, warden guided tours. WAB members get priority and discount.
Dream on.
