| | Play Your Part in Nature’s Recovery Hello!
I hope you don't mind but I'm adding this post on behalf of The Wildlife Trusts. I’m currently helping them with their campaign around the Government’s White Paper on nature in the UK.
You have probably already heard that the Government has launched a Natural Environment White Paper discussion document to ask for people’s views on nature. Anyone can take part, and the Government’s online survey only takes a couple of minutes to complete. This is an opportunity for anyone who cares for wildlife and the environment to let the Government know how important this is.
To encourage as many people as possible to respond to this survey we have set up the Wanted - your views on nature | Natural Environment White Paper website.
This contains some background information on the White Paper, short webfilms from Chris Packham and Stephanie Hilborne (The Wildlife Trusts’ Chief Executive) and a link through to the Defra survey.
We know we are asking a lot, but it would be great if you could visit the Wanted - your views on nature | Natural Environment White Paper website, and then click through to complete the survey.
The deadline for completing the survey is Saturday 30th October 2010 – so only one week to go!
Thank you so much for your help.
Jane

| | | Re: Play Your Part in Nature’s Recovery Thank you both. I really appreciate your help.
If we have the opportunity to "have our say" we should try to use it - and it doesn't take that long.
If you feel passionate about wildlife - please visit the website.
Best wishes.

| Note : This 'white paper' only applies to England.
Scotland and Wales have their own arrangements. |

| | | Re: Play Your Part in Nature’s Recovery I have just completed the survey.
I have to say I found the questions to be frighteningly simplistic and question number 1 is just ridiculous. (I borrowed Nightshade's signature line and reminded them that "You can't maintain an ecology if you lose any of the pieces". The very idea that some parts of the natural environment could or should matter more than others is ridiculously naive.) But I suppose at this stage they need to keep it simple to get as many responses as they can. There should be a much more in-depth consultation once the white paper is published and we need to be ready for that when it comes.
