| | | Re: Not strictly wildlife but still important Sadly, this practice is still very much legal in England I signed this petition a while back, and received the following disappointing petition response at the end of September: Goldfishprizes - epetition response | Number10.gov.uk |

| | | Re: Not strictly wildlife but still important Well, I have to say I am gobsmacked! I could have sworn it was already banned. It astounds me that it is allowed to continue in this "enlightened" day and age!

| | | Re: Not strictly wildlife but still important Damn, I missed this too - saw some in plastic bags the other day, thought it was banned like Dutchess, but sadly mistaken. (the fish giving banned that is, not Dutchess!)
Mind you, my Sammy lived for 7 years as a funfair prize in the 50's.

| | | Re: Not strictly wildlife but still important Thanks all of you for your support. The problem is that most kids that win a goldfish haven't a clue how to look after them and their parents are no more prepared either. So most will stick them in any old container and then begrudgingly buy the cheapest rubbish bowl they can.
Fish are living breathing, sensitive creatures but are treated like rubbish sometimes. When well cared for they can live up to 30 years. All coldwater fish, except the fancy varieties, should be in a pond, and by pond i don't mean a puddle either!
Yes i found the answer to the petition inadequate, but most of them are that i have signed up for.Typical government response to most things.Animal rights come very low in their priorities. |

All 1.5 cm of it.
Looking at the family I didn't give much ofr longevity for the poor fish. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
