| | | Re: Ban Glue Traps - Please Sign Sorry to digress a little here, but I just wanted to share a story with you all…
A few weeks ago I spotted one of those green plastic pest control boxes partially hidden in some hedging in my local supermarket carpark. I had a sudden urge to peer inside the box and was shocked to see a dead rat inside on what looked like a floor of blobs of gel, which I presumed to be glue. Incensed by this cruelty and worried about other innocent wildlife perishing in this way, I voiced my concerns to the manager, who sympathised with my concerns but said she didn’t know anything about these traps and was unable to help, so she called one of the maintenance men, who in turn also didn’t know anything about them. I was advised to contact the company of these traps myself.
Since the supermarket staff weren’t prepared to take any immediate action, I decided I would remove the offending box myself and then contact the pest controllers responsible. Well, the box wouldn’t budge, it was well and truly anchored to the ground, so I thought I’d best try and take a sample of the glue bait in case I needed it as proof. By this time, I was getting some very strange looks from passersby and even more strange looks when I started laughing upon discovering that the blobs of glue were in fact blobs of condensation and the dead rat was a bundle of dried up leaves.
This was one occasion where I was rather glad that no-one cared enough to offer any immediate help! |

| | | Re: Ban Glue Traps - Please Sign Hi Guys
Thanks for all your posts/signatures and support. I am really hoping that we can make a diference (however small) to help towards getting this method of 'pest control' banned.
I have cross posted on other sites, but please feel free to spread the word.
Thanks again! |

| | | Re: Ban Glue Traps - Please Sign I started thinking about these when I wondered if glue could be used to trap birds in any way. When I saw the horrific pictures I was going to sign, but the petition is now closed I hope it has an effect; this is a truly terrible way to die.
