thats a good point DM and one that people who are not used to firearms may not be aware of.
The paperwork and ho ha that attach to owning any kind of firearm are quite high , but they are spectacularly high when you start talking about heavy calibre rifles (because of the potential for harm in the wrong hands - a shotgun is harmless at roughly 200 yds , a deer rifle could be lethal out to arround a thousand - though most people , me included, arent accurate at that range)
As i recall and its been nearly 8 years since ive had a heavy calibre rifle so i could be wrong in some respects not only do you need to satisfy the requirements of holding a fireams certificate, but you also have to have a well specified locking gun safe (which are not cheap) and it has to be secured to, or for preference built into, an external wall (which is a problem if you are a tenant)

Glad to have been a help. |

Thanks for the help.
Although I don't think you quite understand what I am saying.
Back to the main subject then, how do you think the hunting act should be enforced? |

No squeek, you are wrong.
It is a discussion forum.
You seem to have a rudimentary grasp of English, from which you will see that a few of us want argument and debate, and a couple want to abuse.
If you, for instance, answered a few polite questions that were put to you the debate could develop.
But I am an optimist. So here goes.
You want the hunting ban enforced.
There is one legitimate enforcing agency, the police.
What EXACTLY do you think they should do? | ah so im wrong, off course i am, i couldnt possibly be right now could i ! infact i seem to have the wrong idea in every thread ive put up.
as far as i know you have not asked me this question before, anyway they should make sure that foxes are not being hunted with dogs like the law states, and take action if hunts are disobeying the law. |

I enjoy doing the job well and the knowledge that it has been done as humanely as possible. I do not enjoy the killing itself.
Squeek:
You say you don't eat meat, fish or some dairy? How do you feel about the bull calves shot at birth so that you can buy dairy products at a ridiculously low price?
Surely if you feel killing is wrong, you shouldn't eat/drink any dairy at all?
James | i dont buy milk, i have given up many dairy foods b/c of the calves being killed, yes there are some products that are made with milk that i buy, but i feel i am doing my bit , i only eat dairy free chocolate. i am making my stand as best i can. if there were for instance quiche made without dairy then indeed i would be the first to buy it. there are more veggie meals out there now , but we do need more to choose from.
above you say you dont enjoy the killing yourself, why dont you get a job you enjoy ?

dickybird
oh.....and for the record-im not a townie either. | hmm i was thinking the same. and considering one of the few actually has taken part in these cruel hunts, well who knows if he is just here to cause upset to threads like this, i mean i know i said it before but this dm was deerhunter and was banished so he said , and he rejoined as dm and this was the first thread he came to , and if you look at his posts you will see he so much enjoys this thread,he couldnt wait to get back here to this thread. |

Tempting though it is to reply in kind , i'm bigger than that so Ive just reported the abuse and put DB on my ignore list so i cant see his posts. | im a little confused here, you say you "reported the abuse"
yet you now say others did it for you, well which is it to be
maybe you are confused to eh ! |

and secondly if you think me or DM are breaking the site rules (assuming you bothered to read them) by all means report us - I have every confidence that the mod team will be able to tell who the real trouble makers are. And for the record no one is following you arround - this is a discussion forum - if you repeatedly start threads on a contentious subject like hunting you have to expect that people with other views will contest your view point.
As far as i'm concerned it is a discussion, not an argument and that is what forums are for - vis the fact that although DM and I do not agree about the legitimacy of hunting with hounds we are able to discuss our different viewpoints without resorting to name calling and personal abuse.
if this thread gets closed it will be not because of anything DM and I have done but because you and dicky dont seem to be able to tell the difference between a discussion and an argument and are determined to turn a difference of opinion into a personal conflict. | see here you say you didnt have to report db b/c others did , yet in the post above earlier you said you did
