Unhappy Angel Fish

Hi guys I know your all probably sick of this, but please take the time to read this, and maybe help in some small way.

Thanks guys see below.

Saving The Dolphins

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am sure you are aware that still in some parts of the world Dolphins and
Whales are still being hunted for food. As with most Western countries this
act has been outlawed in our waters, and many conservation projects are in
force at present to try and protect these wonderful creatures.

They need your help, there is an annual slaughter of many types of Dolphins
and Whales by the PRO WHALING nations, this alone still disgusts me as I am
sure it disgusts you too.

But look at these links, what is happening in a remote fishing village in
southern JAPAN is truly shocking.

Re: Angel Fish

I would imagine that it is a catchy headline to grab peoples attention because 'dolphins plight' for example would not have been read?

I cant agree with such posts. Only because I feel that we are already very well versed as to the dolphins plight. If every organisation came on and left such a plea we would be overrun with such.

Post 11.07 - Last activity 11.07

2 posts - both regarding dolphins.

To me this is post spamming.

Fair enough posting it - after all it is in the campaigns forum, but the tone leaves something to be desired and it would have been nice to put a title that was actually relevant too.

I must say the title of the post confused me too.The title of the post should reflect the content.I agree with protecting wild life but I prefer to be asked straight out and then I will click the link and find out more but not when it is done in a sneaky way

How rude
This is a friendly forum and that sort of comment is not welcome here. You would have had a possitive reaction from our members if you had not done it this way.I for one will not be clicking your link.I have in the past put my name to petitions from posts on here but I will not support people like you who are rude

Re: Angel Fish

The thread title debate goes no.

I was recently berrated for forum threads, on a community website noless, that included the topics clogs and the Da Vinci Code.

The thread titles were

Clogs

and,

Da Vinci Code

and they were featured in the Treehouse.

Any suggestions?

Your threads always make me laugh A lot of us were guilty of turning your thread around and we all joined in but yours was not rude nor was it spamming.A lot of threads tend to go off topic but it is usually in good fun which is why the forums are so friendly and popular. That is why that person made me angry

Re: Angel Fish

I never care if my threads are ambushed as they are all light hearted anyway. What I do disagree with is people objecting to the content, as I feel I more than telegraph the content in most of the thread titles. Seems that for every person that my threads upset, there are another ten or so that are amused by them. Thats all I aim for. Afterall this is a community site

I don't think I've ever been upset by a thread - well apart from those ones that hang down from the hem of your skirt that tickle the back of your knees, they are really annoying....

Well that sort of attitude will certainly persuade us to help you ... not

Most of us are well aware of the dolphins plight - something that the number of BDLMR members we have on board should validate and many of us may already be doing something about it, however what we will be doing will not involve posting patronising, and frankly offensive threads on other forums.

I suggest you go and read the forum rules and try to obey them when you post in future.

try not to make your tiltles so ambiguous in future

Might I suggest for the examples above a clearer title would be " CLOGS - this thread is about CLOGS, if you are not interested in CLOGS, please dont read it"

Re: Angel Fish

The forum could not be 'humanistic' if humour were not allowed and I see no reason why this should not apply to the title. (And even though my own clumsy attempts at the light-hearted approach might accidentally appear offensive). This, however, is not the case with 'Angel fish' which has no logical connection with the subject and was presumably designed to mislead. It is, on reflection, particularly offensive because there is no reason whatever to suppose that participants in this forum would need to be mislead, or would not respond to a simple 'Save the dolphins'. I do not respond to coercion, have not not checked the links offered and do not intend to do so. Furthermore, it creates a black mark in my mind against the entire 'Save the dolphin' concept which will probably remain permanent and so defeats its object. Deserving though saving the dolphins might be, it is one of those high-profile topics which attracts a band-wagon following of people with whom I do not wish to associate, one of whom dis-harmonious2006 appears to be.

Some of us are privileged to certain information. wink wink.

Most of my mates looked at me gone out when I donned them to a mates wedding. Now who's eating their words?

Hear hear.

I agree entirely.I totally disagree with whaling and dolpin'ing and dont need to be tricked into learning something I already know. I visited Japan twice recently, through work, and can tell you that neither of them taste like chicken, so I see no point in eating them

too right - I wasnt particularly offended by the first post but the second was well out of line - i see that dis-harmonious2006 (nice one airehead) hasnt responded any further i guess they are off post spamming on other forum and harming their cause there too.

Unhappy Re: Angel Fish

This proves my point, that basically none of you really care, that you could judge the plight of the dolphins by a title, and that if the title does not suit your person, you feel right to say I wil not be clicking on your link or any other remark which slates the thread.

This is a numbers game and we are losing, how are we suppost to stop this, this is not a misleading title, or an attempt at coersion.

I find this very sad, this is not about me, this about dolphins and whales, and the frustation of trying to stop this slaughter is overwhelming.

How can you just sit there and say "I won't be clicking on the link" just becasue you feel the title is irrelevant!!!!!!!! fine don't bother and let judgement prevail.

A lot of people out there are just like you any excuse not to care, and to speel of 2 paragraphs in protest over a flippinn title rather than just looking at the links is well believable after reading your comments.

If you not interested in the thread, then don't bother replying, my time is short, and can not respond to every negative reply.

If you can offer constructive feedback on how to impove my hit success, then feel free to reply. If not kindly back off.

If your trying to get arise out of me and upset me.... KARMA BABY KARMA!

I guess they are doomed too extinction.

Well we tried.

Re: Angel Fish

Hi harmonious2006

Most of us on WAB have complete sympathy with the Dolphin issue. Please don’t think we don’t.

I realize it wasn’t your intention, but it seems your original post, and your attempt at humour on the second, didn’t go down to well.

Although I’ve heard similar phrases regarding dolphins (angels of the sea, sea people etc), you could re-post your thread, give it a different title and I’m sure you’ll get a better response.

Remember though this site is primarily devoted to British wildlife.

Alan

.
You want feed back on how to try your hit success you can have it :

a) dont come in here giving us grief about not caring, just because we dont agree with your bizare attempt at advertising your cause dont mean we dont care about the dolphins plight. As i said higher up many of us are already active, and may be acheiving more than you ... all you seem to have achieved so far is to oooo off a bunch of people who are generally sympathetic to your cause.

b) If "your time is short" you could have utilised it more effectively by contacting StuDH and asking how wab could help you publicise your issue - or posted a link with an unambigous title asking the same.

c) Think before you post !!!

It is you who needs to "kindly back off" and it strikes me that you could do far more for the dolphins plight by winding your neck in and letting those who have more experience in gaining public sympathy be the spokes people for the cause as your posts are doing more harm than good.

Dolphins are neither angels nor people. Quite apart from my feelings about dolphins, I have no sympathy whatever for the people who use this kind of emotive rubbish.
Too much Walt Disney, I think.
