| | animal cruelty The Times yesterday carried this article about an animal cruelty film.
It points out some horrendous parctices in the past, but tellingly also makes the point that this still goes on.
Dont read (or watch the film)if you are squeamish. Fancy a roast this Sunday? First watch The Animals Film - Times Online |

| | | Re: animal cruelty Hi,
It is really scary how farm animals are treated at the slaughter houses. I feel so sorry for them, especially how they know whats coming! We have tried cutting down on the amount of meat we consume as a family. I use half the amount and tend to bulk up with extra vegetables.. Have you thought about keeping some ex- battery hens? You can get of these through the Battery Hen Welfare Trust. Also i know a company that sell plans and coops in kit form for those wishing to build their own coop cheaply Home - framebow.co.uk |

| | | Re: animal cruelty I have seen the insides of a couple of slaughter houses and must say that
the staff always performed their duties efficiently and without any cruelty
It is not a well understood job as are most jobs that involve the death of animals (or even people), we have moved too far from our hunter gatherer roots and no longer understand the processses that produce our food.

I think it was through that trust she got them. It was so nice watching these hens, for probably the first time in their lives, scratching around happily and clucking away. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
