Petition against Metaldehyde Slug Pellets

People just use them because it's a cheap and easy way of getting the slugs off their precious plants. They quite often don't care about the effects it has on wildlife, just as long as the plants are safe. They will only stop using it when it's removed from the shelves and banned and only then. It's a reletively labour-free method and that's all they see it as, I'm afraid.
Have signed it and I hope it makes a difference.

I haven't seen anyone mention what happens to the slug pellets - when it rains they dissolve and eventually (or sometimes quickly depending on local hydrogeology) end up in our water supply.....that's OUR water supply that you and I and our children drink.......

Same can be said for a lot of vacuumed packed food & sorts in cases of cancer, I reckon!
