Urgent Please to Help the Amersham Horses

I hope that I am ok to post this here. It is not a wildlife issue but is an animal welfare issure and I assume that this forum is frequented by animal lovers.

---------------------

Please join us in asking Judge Kainth to overturn his decision to return 29 donkeys and ponies to James Gray and to send 82 rescued horses to a public auction.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP?

Please write directly to Judge Kainth to express your views on exactly why these equines SHOULD NOT be returned to the Gray family and why the remaining horses SHOULD NOT be sent to a public auction.

Deputy District Judge Sandeep Kainth
Oxford Magistrates Court
PO Box 37,
Speedwell Street
Oxford
Oxfordshire
OX1 1RZ

Please ask every animal lover you know to write to Judge Kainth. There might only be a tiny chance that we can change his mind but for the sake of the horses that chance must be taken. BTW even if you are not living in the UK please write. If these animals are returned or sold then it will set a very bad precedent for future cruelty cases.

I have set up a Facebook group to help spread the word.

Login | Facebook

Let's hope it makes a difference.

Re: Urgent Please to Help the Amersham Horses

It beggers belief that judges can even think of sending any animal back to someone who has been found to neglect their animals welfare,if it was to happen to children there would an outcry again when you think about it I`m not to sure when you think of some of the decisions judges andf welfare services have handed out ,it nevers stops to amaze me ,I think some of them must live in cloud cuckoo land

Re: Urgent Please to Help the Amersham Horses

I have read that the horses being returned were in good condition when they were found. Whether this is the case or not they were found on a farm that had 32 dead horses on it! This is not a family that looks after their 'pets' and they should be banned for life from keeping any animal.

Re: Urgent Please to Help the Amersham Horses

An online petition by the NEWC is now live. It requests that all animals be left in the care of the welfare agencies or be re-homed until the trial of the Gray family dealing with 12 counts of animal cruelty has taken place.

Re: Urgent Please to Help the Amersham Horses

Hi Blueroan

Thanks for your support but I would be careful about staging any kind of protest as if the judge thinks that the Gray's won't get a fair hearing he may throw the case out.

I have asked for advice from one of the charities on this so will post if/when I get it. You could email one of them yourself if you want to know more.

Re: Urgent Please to Help the Amersham Horses

couldn't believe it when I read this topic, mind you the fact that he had been reported to the R.S.P.C.A. etc for months if not years before they finally decided to do something speaks volumes, you only have to look at the Hillside Animal Rescue web sight to see what happens on some of the so called Freedom Food Sites that are supposed to be monitored regularly by the R.S.P.C.A.
