| | Hogwatch!!!! This may have already been mentioned but here goes anyway!!
HOGWATCH!!!!!
Here is something we can all get involved in without too much effort needed.
Below is the information printed on a card that can be obtained from http://www.HogWatch.org.uk
Are hedgehogs disappearing? Many people think they are not as common as they used to be - when was the last time you saw a hedgehog?
We need you to help us find out if hedgehogs are becoming more scarce. To do this we need thousands of you to tell us about hedgehogs you've seen so that we can build up a map of where they are found in the UK.
Letting us know that you haven't seen hedgehogs is just as important as letting us know that you have!
To take part all you need to do is answer three simple questions. Either go online (to the above site) or fill in your answers below and send the postcard back.
Later this year we will be asking you whether or not you saw any hedgehogs during 2006. We need to be able to contact your by email or post so please do not forget to fill in your details below (this obviously only applies if you have the postcard!! )
So if you want to help us help the hedgehogs in the UK, now is your chance!!!!!!
Jo

| | | Re: Hogwatch!!!! Last year I left sunflower seeds and hazel nuts out for a squirrle. He's still alive, I've seen him a couple of times, but he stopped coming to collect nuts last october. Last one summer night last year I found out hedgehogs like sunflower seeds and hazel nuts too, when I saw one eating just outside my window. Since the squirrle won't come back, I leave food out for the hedgehogs instead. I know there's at least 3 that come around regularly. One I had taken in to treat for ticks & fleas, and one night while he was inside I saw my other two hedgies, Spike, easily ideantified by his all-over-the-place spines, and another one I named Imp, short for imposter/impersonator - because he looks just like Prickles - the one I treated for ticks. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
