| | | Re: Where have all the hedgehogs gone? got home last night-and there was one of the hedgehogs running about my drive. i have about 3 that i recognise,a very large male(?) that i havent seen for a while(maybe hibernating) and two smaller ones. i have many areas in my garden where hedgehogs can sleep/hide etc. i never have a bonfire without checking it first and dont use slug pellets--or anyother chemical that could harm wildlife. unfortunately there are some near me who do and every year i find at least one dead in the lane(not run over)
however last year i counted 9 dead on one stretch of road alone. an estate of old houses was in the process of being demolished nearby.
