| | | Re: Badger Cull Downing Street Petition Signed and emailed on to friends. The mass cull nealy wiping out the Badgers in Ireland reduced the tb slightly but they still have one of the highest occurance of the disease. Some have put the reduction down to better husbandry too. And I dont see the point in culling the Badgers when its been proven they catch the disease from the cows more often than the other way round |

| | | Re: Badger Cull Downing Street Petition Firstly, many thanks to all that have signed the petition. I hope the mods realise (in a mo) that I am not bumping the petition with this post - far from it.
This thread was meant purely to hold a petition for interested parties to sign, or not - your choice!
If you aren't convinced by petitions per say, (no names no packdrill), this is not the thread for you.
If you would like to discuss the pros and cons of the proposed cull, there are at least two (I think) threads in the mammals forum that are more appropriate to contribute to, I would suggest?
I do hope I'm not treading on toes here, but would just like to keep this petition just that, a petition. I hope that is acceptable with everyone? (Mods of course, included!)
Thanks again to those that have signed.

Doug | I think it's quite strange that this petition has only got 500 signatures. As you say Doug there are two threads on WAB, one which has been quite heated at times, but for some reason people aren't signing.

| | | Re: Badger Cull Downing Street Petition But Badgers are a pest and are destroying the livelyhoods of farmers all over our country. If dairy farms disappear what will we have in their place?
Housing estates by Barratts, Sainsburys, gypsy camps and petting zoos !
Think about what you are signing as this is for the good of the countryside as a whole and not "wiping out" a species !!! |
