| | | Springwatch Now that the first signs of Spring are appearing I thought I would remind people of the Springwatch survey. Its looking to record people's first sightings of 6 things:
Red-tailed Bumblebees
Seven-spot Ladybirds
Frogspawn
Peacock butterflies
Hawthorn flowering
Swifts
It's really important to get hold of information on whether spring is getting earlier/later etc. and needs lots of people to take part.
It's really simple and as I found red-tailed bumblebees, seven-spot ladybirds and frogspawn at the weekend I thought that I would just mention it to remind people to keep on the lookout.
Here's the link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/nature/animals/...gwatch/record/
There's also another site for pepole who want to get really carried away and start looking for even more signs of Spring - the list of that one is quite daunting so I won't type it out, but here's the link if you're interested: http://www.phenology.org.uk/
- then go to get involved - you'll need to register |

The only downside to Springwatch is Bill Oddie appearing on the telly soon

| | | Re: Springwatch Have been writing a report on climate change in the UK (its due thursday ) and have found the results from past Springwatch very helpful, data from last spring showed that bumblebees and peacock butterflies were seen on average 3weeks earlier than 30years ago. I wonder what the results will tell us this year??
I agree with Fournier, get involved and make your contribution to science |

| | | Re: Springwatch you don't need to record the results this year to know spring is late by about a month.
I have not got one daffodil yet.. Not seen any frog spawn or any of the other things on the list.
I have looked at the site there are sighting all over the country except in my garden in Northants. |
