I haven't seen a butterfly for a couple of weeks now.

Nige | I'd say it's been pretty warm for November- we're possibly on course for warmest November on record. Today it was at least 16C at 13.00 at White City.
My last butterfly was a Peacock last Saturday on a warm but grey day.
Certainly exceptionally late for a Holly Blue + worth sending your record to Butterfly Conservation.
Normally any butterfly seen this late is one of the species that overwinters as an adult or a migrant species- noticed a couple of Painted Ladies were recorded in Devon yesterday. |

In the north there's just a single brood with a flight period from April through to mid June. But that's another thing that may be changing with the climate.
I don't know all this by the way - your picture piqued my interest and I'm reading up!
