| | | Extension to Big Butterfly Count Butterfly Conservation.org have given an extension to their count until 7 August.This is because of lack of Sunshine 16-31 July.Still chance to download recording recognition chart.Habitats to record sightings are Garden-Park-School-Grassy field-Arable field-Wood.Chart has 2 moths as well.
My recorded sightings done on 23-07-2011 are-Large White 8.Small White 3.Green-veined White 5.Brimstone 1. Meadow Brown 2. Gatekeeper 4.Peacock 2.Small Tortoiseshell 2.Red Admiral 4. Comma 1. That was a total of 32 on 23/07/2011 in grassy field recently cut.It was cloud with some sun that day.

| | | Re: Extension to Big Butterfly Count We went to Paxton Pits and decided to do one there. I have only made half-hearted attempts otherwise, as the whites were too hard to ID without bins.
15 min list:
Brimstone
Small White 4
Holly Blue
Red Admiral 3
Meadow Brown 1
Gatekeeper 1
Of course, we went into the fields and found loads more. This was on a path that was partly wooded.
