When i saw this one i was hoping it was a silver spotted but don't think so now. Am i right?

| | | Re: Skipper ID Confirmation The second is a male Large Skipper. Still a bit early for Silver-spotted which is restricted to some southern downland sites.
The first looks like it might be Small Skipper, but I can't see the underside of the antennae tips to be certain; orange to brownish in Small + jet black in Essex. With the males the shape/length of the sex brand allows an ID in the position yours shows ( a female). |

This one looks like it has black on the underneath of the antenna, suggesting it would be a Essex skipper. Would you agree?

Though your photo shows some black on the underside of the antennae, this is a Large Skipper. |
