Heath Fritillary - a set on Flickr

Headed to Blean Woods in order to try and find some Heath Fritillary butterflies, and to try out my photography skills (I'm new at this, and only have a standard 18-55 lens at the moment). I thought I would share my results, and maybe pick up a few pointers

Nice photos. Not sure you could get much better with a kit lens. i would have used a shallower Depth of field if possible

I was there on sunday. Did you see a man with a beard and a Pentax camera dragging round a bored looking girlfriend?

There were a few people about with cameras that day, however i do remember one couple, he pointed us in the direction of a mating pair, unfortunatly we never found them

, but if that was you then hi, if not, I think i missed you.

That was me. I thought of you as the rain started to fall as I tucked into my lunch in the cafe at Wildwood!

Sorry I did show you where the pair were but the girlfriend was getting understandably impatient! The pair were quite tame, I pointed them out to a family and when I completed the loop came across them again and the girl had had them on her finger the whole time apparently!

Haha, yea we had to take shelter in the car for a while.
No worries, we managed to find four of them sitting on one plant who seemed incredibly reluctant to move, but we couldn't find the pair, o well always next time
