Unknown red butterfly
Hi,

Please can someone identify a very unusual red and black butterfly I saw in my garden in Sheffield UK yesterday (June)? I cannot find any information about it any where. Having problems adding a photo here (added 20/06/2011)

You actually have a moth, not a butterfly.

It's a Cinnabar Moth.

Not a butterfly, in fact, but a cinnabar moth, I believe. Very eye-catching.

Thanks to both of you. Have read up on this moth now and it seems to be quite common but honestly have never seen this before! Hope to do so again.
