Marsh Fritillary? - Chambers Farm Wood

I'm driving back from North Lincs to London this Sunday (12th June). I was planning on stopping by Chambers Farm Wood on the way back down. Are Marsh Fritillaries still likely to be about or have I left it too late for this site? Any suggestions on areas to look there and any other wildlife?

I'd have thought so. You should look in Little Scrubs Meadow, an area of open grassland within the wood. Its years since I've been but the meadow should be identified on site signage/leaflets.

Thanks Johnny, I did go to Little Scrubs Meadow yesterday morning in the end. Although it was warm, it was also overcast and a bit breezy so I didn't see any Marsh Fritillaries - just a few common blues, large skippers and a meadow brown. Perhaps I'll have better luck next year. I did disturb a Tawny Owl from its roost though, and got a good view as it flew past me.

Perhaps they were all finished then. There has been a good population there in the recent past. Introduced though.
