| | | Re: Plain red winged butterfly ID please! There is a form of the Cinnabar moth which has red wings with a thin black outline, tyria jacobaeae f. coneyi. I've not managed to find a photo of it on the net, but it's in Waring and Townsend.
I've mentioned it before on some of the Red/pink butterfly threads, and personally think that until someone comes up with a photo proving otherwise, it's the most likely ID for a lot of these ID queries.
