2 Butterflies, UK

Seen these 2 today but unsure of ID.

Am I correct this is a Brown Argus?




And this is a Common Blue? Or Adonis? How on earth do you tell the difference!?!

I think it's common blue. My main reason for saying so, judging by the photos of both on uk butterflies website, your butterfly is missing the prominant black flecks on the outer edges of the wings that I'd associate with Adonis blue. without the upper part of the wings which it's got tucked up in your photos, I'm unsure enough to not be absolutely positive. I'm sure someone far more versed will know more id tips for you.

Hi if you check the spots on the underwing you will see these are different species,the first i beleave to be a female Brown argus,the body is shorter and thicker than the male, the second a common blue.
