Was telling my carpenter this morning about the butterfly I found and today we had BBC Radio 4 on while he was working away fitting my skirting boards and 'Home Planet' came on and they started to talk about Butterfly's hiding away for winter.
We were both quite shocked that such an obscure subject would come up after talking about it only a couple of hours before.
However this is not the first time R4 has done this to me !
It's the first article if anyone wants to listen. BBC - BBC Radio 4 Programmes - Home Planet, 11/01/2011 |

| | | Re: Woken Red Admiral advice please I kind of guessed that I shouldn't be doing too much, shame though as the garden looks a mess at the mo. We have two big trees behind our garden boundary which have just dumped their leaves in the garden. I put the butterfly into our shed, it's new so not many spiders taken up residence yet. |

Like many creatures, just because you don't see them doesn't mean they're not around.

In fact, any of the rooms in my home. Loads of spiders. Big hairy ones too.

No, but joking apart, it's pretty scarey for someone who has a real involuntary horror-style fear of spiders. I don't like snakes - I just put distance between us if we meet. Had to help kill a woodland rattlesnake once (long story) - Not easy!

| | | Re: Woken Red Admiral advice please I have held a Tarantula before and this was fine as it was quite docile. I would be scared of anything that suddenly ran out of nowhere and this is what spiders like to do best! Anyway, I fear I have digressed from changing topic from butterflies to spiders...opps! |
