Hello,
Can anyone help with the ID of the two butterflies who's photos I have attached? They were both photogrpahed last August in Hampshire and whilst one looks like a washed-out Fritillary (but I'm not sure which one) the grey one has me stumped.

I'd say that #1 is a female Silver-Washed Fritillary and #2 is a male Small Blue.

1 is a tatty silver-wash could be a Valezina by the look of it and 2 id definitely a moth not sure which one though

I would agree with the SWF and I would say that No 2 is definitely not a moth and most probably a tatty Small Blue. The black marks on the wing certainly point to Small Blue.
