This one has me stumped! Seen yesterday (12/07) near the beach at Kilve, Somerset. It seemed kind of orange when in flight but didn't stay still long enough to get a good look or photo. Can anyone put an ID on it? Thanks in advance!

The closest match I can find is Small Tortoiseshell. |

Hi Claire,
I agree with MetalMoth and Jason, it looks like a Small Tortoiseshell. It seems to be a good year for them, I've seen many more than I usually do. |
