Lots around today but they would not keep still, apart from this one (very average photo  ) 
Also Meadow Browns and Ringlets everywhere.

Hi Robin.
I only saw one at Testwood Park, today.And I couldn't even get a photo of that,it wouldn't stay still.I'm sure there will be many more along later.

Likewise, I had very little luck today or over the past ten days when I have seen them. They are all males searching for females which have yet to emerge and even when the sun went in they weren't settling. I only managed to get one shot today.

I saw my first Marbled White's of the year on Saturday, a few miles south of Milton Keynes. Then we saw a few at our WAB meet at Ivinghoe Beacon and College Lake on Sunday. They all looked very smart, as if they had only recently emerged.

I saw several more yesterday, as I went on a long walk in the Chilterns near Princes Risborough. They were vastly outnumbered by Ringlets, though! |
