| | Skipper Large or Small?
Small or Large Skipper?
I have a feeling it's a small but not sure for sure.
Difficult to get a good pic as blowing a hooley today.
Taken in west Carmarthenshire
Thanks in advance of the enlightenment I'm hoping somebody will give me

It's a male Large Skipper. Quite a few about now. |

| | | Re: Skipper Large or Small? Definitely a large skipper, for reasons given, plus look at the antennae - these are hooked at the tip and those of small skipper aren't. |

| | | Re: Skipper Large or Small? What confused me is all the photos I've seen of large Skippers have tended to be slightly dull lin colour, but the photos of small Skippers tended to be much like this in colour, very orange-ish brown and very striking in the sunlight. Just checked the flight period as well Johnny, something I failed to do and yes you're correct, too early for small.
I suppose now I need to pet a photo of a small to compare and contrast.
Thanks to everyone for all the responses and help.
