First butterfly this year

Lovely photo Dai- one I haven't seen yet this year, though they have been quite scarce in the south-east in recent seasons.

So far I've had 2 male Brimstones, 1 Red Admiral, several Peacocks + a couple of Small Whites.

Saw my first Butterfly yesterday whilst at Sevonoaks train staition, it was situated on the rail itself, bent down got my camera out my bag and it had vanished into thin air. 8-) Doh!

My first butterfly this year was a stunning Brimstone on the primroses in my little front garden, I had to run upstairs for my camera when I got back gasping for breath it had flown - story of my life!

I am hoping this is going to be a good year for Small Tortoiseshell butterflies. I have seen more so far this year than I have ever seen in my lifetime!

First ones today - Peacock and Comma. Both were a bit battered and worse for wear but I'm hopeful now that there will be plenty about soon and willing to pose.

This week seen small tortoiseshells, peacocks, comma and brimstones. Lovely and sunny today so hopefully more butterflies will be fluttering around my garden.

I have also seen more small tortoiseshells this year than previous years susie,and even more peococks here near bristol.

Yesterday in the sun.Walking Wellow brook to Stoni littleton,Several Peacocks, two tortoise shell and seven Brimstone seen.Also walked back same route but did not count them again.
