I haven't spotted one yet, but your posts have inspired me to keep my eyes peeled. Yesterday was lovely and mild and today looks like being the same... I'm guessing quite a few things might start appearing.

Saw my first Brimstone this morning, flitting around the garden in the sunshine....brought a smile to my face!

First butterfly of the year for me as well a male Brimstone.

I'd be very pleased to see a Brimstone up here on my hill. I've got a few Buckthorn to include in my hedge planting this weekend. It's a bit optimistic but who knows. I read somwhere that the range of Brimstone as a breeding species has been extended by planting Buckthorn.

I saw my first butterfly of the year this morning, a Brimstone in the village of Barton-le-Clay, Beds. There was then a second one along a footpath just outside the village.

I saw my first Brimstone (a fine male) this afternoon near the West London Shooting Club (clays only). Nearby an Ten Acre Wood I was more surprised to see a fresh male Small White which briefly settled allowing a positive ID.
