| | | Peacock in march. Hi.
Doing some work in the garden this morning and I found this in a turned over pot full of leaves.
It climbed out onto a piece of wood, spread its wings in the sun for a while and then moved back in amongst the leaves when the sun went in and it started to spit with rain.
I moved it and its leaves back into a safe spot near where it came from.
Hope I did right.

| | | Re: Peacock in march. Sounds like you did the right thing! As soon as we get sufficient warmth they'll be flying around, fuelling up on Sallows + suitable garden plants such as Ericas, etc, mating + egg laying. |

Just starting planing what to do in the garden this year. The one good thing is, we have three large sweet chestnut trees and we don't clear up all the leaves in the autumn and this gives plenty of cover for insects and frogs through the winter, aswell as mice judging by the amount of chestnuts i've found that have been eaten.

| | Re: Peacock in march. It won't matter too much if you haven't any suitable nectar plants, as Peacocks are pretty mobile + are sure to find sustenance somewhere locally! |
