| | | A life tick This has been an amazing year for butterflies and I have seen many species for the first time (and just missed the Iole Purple Emperor by a whisker too!). The year started well with Duke of Burgundy among others but I wasn't prepared for the grand finale, which were these today:- |

| | Re: A life tick Where did you see this Susie as they are quite a rare migrant to the UK? There was a possible small colony for about 3 seasons around the Minsmere area a few years back.
Pretty common in parts of the continent.
Good one to get on a UK list! |

| | | Re: A life tick Hi Susie,
An excellent sighting indeed! Wow, a beauty. You had your camera to hand, too...
Take care, Jason |

| | | Re: A life tick I saw two yesterday in Sussex. I am going back again today as this is too good an opportunity to miss. I read there have been roughly 400 sightings in the UK since they were first recorded in 1710. |
