Unknown pupae to ID please....

Is this a Small Tortoiseshell or a 'cabbage white' that hasn't finished turning yellow-ish brown? I spotted it hanging from the back fence while out mothing last night - it seems to have a very tenuous silk holdfast - should there have been a 'cross' thread over its body securing it too? I can't see it surviving when the wrens and blue tits come round - if I can see it so clearly they must be able to?

Large White, not sure about the colour though? Maybe its died or parasitized or as you say not finished changing colour?

Thanks charlieb - I thought it might be Large White - I shall keep an eye on it and see if anything else happens but I suspect too that there is something not quite right about it. Ta for looking.
