| | | Unknown Butterfly, Please Help Identify Hi there, I am new to butterfly identification and I am really stumped with this one I saw today whilst walking along the costal path in Praa Sands, Cornwall. I've scanned through a few websites listing UK species and haven't seen anything like it, I hope you can help!
Thank you! |

Two different blue butterflies, I apologise for the rubbish quality of the second image!
A speckled wood
A painted lady, saw a few of these |

| | | Re: Unknown Butterfly, Please Help Identify Magpie moths are a delight. I've only ever seen two. One at Mullion Cove, Cornwall and t' other above Glen Brittle on the Isle o' Skye.

I cannot be sure, because some blues are indentified by underwing markings (silver studded blue, for example - but silver studded are restricted to only a few remaining sites anyway)...so, I am fairly confident that these are both Common blues.
