| | | The waiting game! Lovely sunny afternoon yesterday, spent ages trying to photograph a pair of Gatekeepers on the oregano. They danced around every time I moved, so I sat down for a rest. Then one of them landed on my hand - the one holding the camera of course! Almost as if it knew what I was trying to do. Got them both eventually: |

| | | Re: The waiting game! I know exactly what you mean. I was trying to get a photograph of a Painted Lady yesterday with wings closed. Every time I got into position the butterfly would either fly off or open it's wings.
I decided to set up the camera on the tripod and prefocused it where I thought one might land. After around 45 minutes of patiently waiting one landed just where I wanted it and shut it's wings. End result an image I had been after for quite a while. |
