| | | Courting(?) Tortoiseshells(?) Just posted the following on the main insect forum (but called them Painted Ladies by mistake!):
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just been watching two butterflies (painted ladies??) on the grass, one behind the other. He (?) was edging up on her (?), both with wings spread, and he was LOUDLY hitting her on the back with his antennae. For such sensitive appendages I was amazed how hard he was managing to tap her on the back.
Just before they got it on properly, they both flew off. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
