| | | grayling butterfly After numerous attempts I finally saw one today on scrubland around Teesmouth, took me ages to follow it to get a view with wings open to confirm identity. This maybe explains why nearly all images on the net etc are of Graylings with wings closed- very unsociable. |

| | | Re: grayling butterfly Well done!! I've never seen one properly with their wings open. I saw my first ones of the year earlier this week. They make me smile when they alight and almost immediately drop their forewings - "wings up" - "wings down" |
